New Years Day 2013 – Events

Humans are spiritual beings who are also intensely social creatures. We passionately enjoy special Events. Conscious spontaneous choreography is required, much more than just planning. At ISA we refer Top Chefs for the best jobs our VIP clients give us among other Best Job Opportunities. Job descriptions that require top expert household help. Expert Chefs who love to serve fabulous healthy food and drinks, who also make great nutritious foods for children. They’re also able to invent a solution to unexpected challenges (like sudden extra dinner guests with pets and an entourage).

TIP: Breathing (taking a deep breath such as Ujjayi breath), is your first step. People still “trend image” and some are solely reliant on fashion to sell themselves. One image is the ‘cool’ character, a slippery trend that shifts spontaneously. We all know that something that was cool yesterday is suddenly uncool today. Like smoking, a growing trend, (I’m a former smoker who quite in my twenties so this is not intended to be preaching), with second-hand smoke adversely affecting children. Or mindlessly consuming questionable foods like GMO that children are also exposed to daily in their schools. These are facts of harmful impact (do the research online and you’ll quickly see for yourself). Forget promoting an image that promotes unhealthy living, there’s nothing cool about it (our survival is at stake). Know that your behavior affects them, and that children have different needs unique to their growth.

TIP: Share and keep sharing Information. Like the fact that autism is spreading among other disorders primarily in the west, in the English speaking countries. ADD and HDAD or OCD are rapidly increasing. I ran across a neurologist doctor, who wrote a book (about healing the gut via a GAPS Diet) showing this can be cured or greatly improved. See more about GAP here, and listen to Dr. Mercola’s interview with Dr. Natasha Campbell-Mcbride. I’m not promoting their beliefs or diets (thought they seem quite worth trying), this is in the interest of exploring possibilities that might be of help. People make new resolutions and perhaps this is relevant for yours.

There’s a new love story circulating. As a TED video posted by an artist showed, younger gens are reaching out across borders and religious beliefs in hopes of finding peace. All it took was one person not waiting on his government. Practice Love, you can’t stop it.

Many of our clients are on vacation taking yachting breaks and due to confidentiality we don’t name them. Bringing quality time to everything they do requires a staff that does too. Some of those jobs require traveling with the Employer. If it’s not best of the best, immediately introduce something to improve the moment. It’s not one day at a time, it’s moment by moment (and beyond). Don’t wait to creatively push things to be at their very best, and always have your humor ready. Appreciate our oceans wherever you go and do keep your carbon footprint in view. Natives will appreciate it, and so will you.

There is also nostalgia about nostalgia, as people feverishly rush to commemorate ephemeral sartorial days, from casual to formal (suggested or required) for a huge range of events. We love Chanel, who took women out of dresses by putting them into men’s clothing (cross gender was not a term back then cause people were just free without making a big deal out of it constantly), forever ending imprisonment of female side-saddel (among other sexy freeing things).

She forged her own vision and laid her own path against others who opposed and criticized. Her message was clear: don’t live vicariously and be your own original freedom. There has been a growing trend to become ‘ugly deliberately’. Create your beauty-full world, rather than blame memories you’re clinging to. As the brilliant acting coach Stella Adler taught, get over it. It’s a new year.

Anything goes in 2013; we remember artists who’ve bravely insisted on new directions. Raise a toast to them as our forerunners. They created the world we live in today, often with great personal sacrifice and unimaginable travail. None of this would have been possible without them. If you’re in New York or passing through on your way back from vacation, go see MOMA exhibit on abstraction to enjoy art that transformed the world, and our Spirit with it. See the Holocaust Museum in Washington, and then see The Scream by Munch (a lifetime opportunity). Take your friends, children, with you. Human suffering has been with us since the beginning. One of the best books I ever read was I Never Promised You a Rose Garden. This may seem low for a New Year event, but it’s about being grateful, not forgetting the past.

Yves St. Laurent portrait

It was a young St. Laurent who originally made the smoking suit popular for women everywhere, by introducing his own original everyday style (inspired upon Channel’s). I share passion with Yves St. Laurent and his conversation with Art, who inspired me significantly in my youth.

Our celebrity clients know it’s important to explore roles and reinvent ourselves (often). Best of the best Staffing is always done with expert unsurpassed quality, as ISA is famous for. Original Art is not derivative. It’s not about copying randomly, as we’re seeing increasingly fill our museums. Original means a new vision. Fashion, including your jeans and t-shirts, are costumes. We come famously naked so let’s not argue, (just smile).

Another highly inspirational place to visit would be going to the American Visionary Art Museum. Explore and appreciate remarkable self-taught artists, and perhaps also volunteer your time there. Founder/Director Rebecca Alban Hoffberger, is another visionary with a great art philosophy to study.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2013!

FOOD TRENDS – Kids

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010 | Our Best Advice | Comments Off

Ice-Cream Cookie Jar

At ISA staffing we deal with the Best Jobs for the Best Nannies, Governess and other Childcare Workers along with placing the Top Private Chefs in the world in private homes, services we provide to clients for which we are famous (see our photo gallery). These great jobs (apply here) may include dealing with overseeing kids meals and their party events.

When I write that I enjoy bringing you latest TRENDS including allergy findings that could save a child’s life, it’s not only because of the professional love we have for our work and kids, it also effects each of us. TIPS for maintaining nutritious healthy foods and updates on food sensitivities are a must to share given the growing challenges.

GMO grown Corn looks "perfect"

According to Dr. Pamela Ewing, an allergy consultant at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, England, said the rise in cases appears to be outstripping even peanut allergies. Dr. Ewan sees more than 8,000 people with allergies a year. She said that most patients with reactions to fruit and vegetables were children, and the numbers are rising at alarming rates.

You read that correctly: fruits and vegetables are some of the newest culprits triggering heavy allergies, despite everyone thinking they’re unconditionally beneficial for us. What we fail to consider is GMO grown foods and the deplorable corporate politics of how they’ve entered our food supply. GMO is never healthy.

Most Kids love french fries. However, you’d be surprised to know the potato dishes served in restaurants (including those lovely French Fries cooked in Canola Oil) come from GMO grown produce. Potato is one of the most auto-immune inflaming foods causing allergies, fibromyalgia, and rheumatoid arthritic symptoms (as I personally came to discover with joint pain that disappeared once I stopped eating it and products with potato derived additives). Also be weary of sweet food additives KIDS are sensitive to, including products like catchup and candy bought at health food markets. Fructose corn syrup is under attack for getting it off the market as cause for much of childhood illness and obesity. Don’t fall for thinking that fructose sounds natural, then it must be ok to eat. A clever disguise of this additive is also being marketed under the name “corn sugar”.

NON-GMO Shopping Guide

Download the NON-GMO shopping guide – TIP: Use it when you write your shopping list. Keep it with you whenever you shop and buy products listed in the Guide. Store it inside your reusable shopping bag, or simply leave it in your car, or have it with your checkbook or credit cards holder. Even if your household only shops for organically grown products kids are still exposed at home, school, friends homes, out at the park, picnics, sports or other events, or having an ice-cream treat with toppings at the local store.

You get the idea how hard it is to control what hungry mouths ingest or eager arms are able to reach on a table in a blink of an eye. If we all do this together, the change accelerates. Soon, retailers will actively seek to have products that are NON-GMO and only organically grown. Meanwhile, find great recipes for homemade treats online that don’t include fructose syrup, the worst triggers according to Dr. Mercola (mercola.com)

The Hungry Caterpillar

Another TIP, when you have time watch this video on GMO foods and how affected we all are. There are beneficial trends, and then there are those which are deadly everyone needs to know about.

Order foods online that verify organically grown with stamped labels, and support websites providing such services, including getting their Email newsletters. Share them with others, teach KIDS you come in contact with and their parents, and send Our Best Advice link for TIPS they’ll enjoy knowing.

Become proactive on GMO issues. Encourage others to be alert to childhood allergies that could be life threatening. Tip 1: Buy Organic and request NON-GMO labeled food.

NON-GMO label

look for NON-GMO label on foods

We cannot emphasize this enough. Certified organic products cannot be produced using GMO ingredients. Buy only products labeled “100% organic”, “organic,” or at least “made with organic ingredients.” Read more about organic standards… Tip 2: Look for “non-GMO” labels. Companies may voluntarily label products as “non-GMO.” Some labels state “non-GMO” while others spell out “Made Without Genetically Modified Ingredients.” Products that carry the Non-GMO Project Seal have third party verification as being in compliance with Non-GMO Project standards for GMO avoidance. Some products limit their claim to only one particular “At-Risk” ingredient such as soy lecithin, listing it as “non-GMO.” Look for dairy products labeled “No rBGH or rBST,” or “artificial hormone-free.”

Tip 3:  Avoid at-risk ingredients
If it’s not labeled organic, avoid products made with the “Big Four” GM crops: Corn, Soybeans, Canola, and Cottonseed, used in processed foods. Also, more than 50% of Hawaiian papaya is GM and a small amount of zucchini and yellow squash. Also, become familiar with our list of invisible GM ingredients and avoid sugar from GM Sugar Beets.
Corn
• Corn flour, meal, oil, starch, gluten, and syrups
• Sweeteners such as fructose, dextrose, and glucose
• Modified food starch*
Soy
• Soy flour, lecithin, protein, isolate, and isoflavone
• Vegetable oil* and vegetable protein*
Canola Canola oil (also called rapeseed oil), one of the worst choices you can make although it’s touted as a healthy oil. Same for Cottonseed oil. Most foods at the Deli or prepared foods at your healthy grocery stores use these oils. Don’t ingest it.
Sugar
Avoid anything not listed as 100% cane sugar. GM beet sugar recently entered the food supply. To avoid it, look for organic and non-GMO sweeteners, candy and chocolate made with 100% cane sugar, evaporated cane juice or organic sugar. Although Agave has become very trendy, it’s even higher in sugar overload affect being a more concentrated sugar while using less, and raw organic Manuca Honey which has been lab tested for its medicinal properties, is still the best of all.
*May be derived from other sources.
Aspartame, the offender linked to cancer and other diseases. It is the artificial sweetener also known as NutraSweet and Equal which is derived from GM microorganisms. Once embedded into the gut these microorganisms are hard to get rid of, and by design, make you crave more sugary sweet foods.

Stick to organic EVO and Coconut Oil in store bought products. Just because it states “RAW” and has sunflower oil and agave doesn’t mean it’s automatically healthy. Many vitamin and mineral supplements carry these so called “harmless” fillers. Don’t ingest them, and don’t let kids you know or take care of do it, for your and their best interests and protecting our food supply.
